Cali Kula, also known as Mehdi Ahmadi, is a versatile artist, composer, and visual creator whose artistic journey has left a lasting impact on various creative realms. With a diverse portfolio encompassing film soundtracks, dance compositions, and sonic installations for exhibitions, Cali Kula has consistently pushed the boundaries of sound and visual art.
In 2021, he established Wild Bohemia Studio in Tunis, a creative space dedicated to sound and imagery. The following year, he founded Wild Bohemia Records, a label committed to promoting innovative electronic talents.
His musical prowess came to fruition in his debut EP, «The Crow,» a four-track Deep House release in 2021 on the Batavia Records label in the Netherlands. This initial work showcased his ability to craft intricate electronic soundscapes that captivate listeners.
In 2022, Cali Kula embarked on the «Electronic Arab Lost Tapes» project, an intriguing exploration of electronic music using archived audio interviews with legends of Arabic music. This endeavor reflects his dedication to bridging cultural and musical genres while revitalizing historical audio archives.
In 2023, he unveiled his EP «Les pieds de Margot» and the single «This Is House» under the banner of Wild Bohemia Records, highlighting his versatility and capacity to explore various subgenres of electronic music.
His tracks have been featured on specialized genre podcasts such as Deeper Shades Of House and Dirty Disco.
Continuing his musical journey, Cali Kula delved into the ambient domain with the release of «Tunseya, A Flight In Tunisia» on the American label Discovery Records.
This ambient album transports listeners on an ethereal journey through the landscapes and emotions of Tunisia, underscoring his ability to evoke powerful emotions through his compositions.
In 2024, so far, Cali Kula released “Kawkab Achark” Ep, “Les Pieds de Margot”
Remixed Ep, the Ambient Techno Ep “Polar Trawler” and “Acting like a man” single.
He is also a former media personality, having been a former radio host and producer at Radio Tunis Chaîne Internationale, former program director at Shems FM and Express FM, and former CEO of Radio Misk.
